  • Become an Author This Year!

If you know something that can help others - we all do - have you thought about putting it down on paper and publishing it - and selling it? You may not have enough for a book, but how about a booklet? Paulette Ensign, "The Booklet Queen" can tell you how to do it.

Click here to get a copy of Paulette's article, "Baby Boomers and Booklets - Share and Share Alike" which includes "15 Questions to Instantly Help You Write a Tips Booklet."

Joyce Shafer Wisdom: Decide What You Want To Be More Of And Go For It

Patient: "Doc, help me. I'm a teepee! I'm a teepee!
    Doctor: "Relax, you're two tents."

What do you believe about yourself and why?

Many have a block when it comes to success whether it's the fear of failure or of succeeding. Maybe the basis of success fear is a Yurnodda Syndrome symptom. This syndrome begins to live within us during our most formative years when we are told by one or more persons we tend to believe, untruths such as You're not a strong/smart/clever/disciplined (fill in the blank) enough person.

Can Coca Cola Really Dissolve a T-bone Steak?

A subscriber sent the information below about the benefits of drinking water as opposed to Coca-Cola. I can't vouch for the source of the information and I'm not sure I agree with all of the negative statements about Coca Cola, nevertheless, in my opinion, Coke is not fit for human consumption.

A charge that "You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days" diminishes credibility of other more rational statements. I don't know where the steak will be "gone" to but chances are it will be very tender because of the tenderizing effect of the acidic Coke. Because Coke is so acidic it has no place in a healthy diet. It probably accounts for more health problems than we are willing to recognize or admit. The information about the

Here are links I've found during December that I think you will find helpful. Of particular interest to everyone should be "Sugary drinks linked to Alzheimer's." Our love affair with refined sugar is not only making us fat, it's destroying our brains. On that happy thought, read on . . . :-)

Videos: Dirty Glasses & Natural Hormone Replacement

Thanks to SpeakerNet News the first video is important if you stay in a hotel/motel when you travel. It's pretty gross.

The second video features Dr. Michael Platt speaking about natural hormone replacement. The video takes a couple of minutes to download so patience is required.

    On Finding Friends . . .

I received the following from a subscriber I'll call Mary: "I totally agree with you on your philosophies regarding age and your attitude towards. The only serious problem that I've experienced is with making friends. Although I am 41, I have the hobbies and interests of a 20 year old. The problem with this is that it's very difficult for me to find people within my age range that share my interests. I can spend time with much younger people, which is often fun. But they don't share the life experiences and maturity that I have, so there's always a bit of a disconnect. Do you experience this problem?"

    Happy New Year !

Make this the year you take control of your aging process. If you do just one thing, it's a step in the right direction.

In a couple of weeks I'll be getting a lens implant in my left eye, and this time I'm a little less stressed out about the operation than I was when my right eye was done. I'm staying positive and looking forward to the Lasik I will have in a couple of months that will allow me to see without glasses -- the first time since age six!

What you do to control your aging process may not be as drastic, but it doesn't matter. What does matter is that you do SOMETHING to keep a handle on how you age so you can enjoy a high quality of life when you are "old" in years but not in mind or spirit.

    Speak to Me!

In addition to participating in the survey, if there is something you'd like to say rather than write, here's the place to do it. You will need your microphone plugged in -- and that's it! I'd love to hear from you so tell me what's on your mind. I'm a great listener. :-)
