From the Mail Bag
In response to the article “When Will You Retire” in the August newsletter:
I want to echo your wise thoughts on retirement. I have
heard, "Still working?", and my reply is, "Still paying the mortgage & buying
groceries, and still working", as if they weren't implying 74 is time to quit.
According to whom? I'm luckily in a profession I enjoy, am still in demand, and
fortunately don't need great physical strength, but wisdom, which is
appreciated, not deprecated, by customers. I am a psychotherapist, and can
continue to be until I decide I'm done. I find I've always been friends with
people of all ages, not mine only, and so continue. I appreciate your
newsletter.
Gratefully,
Dot
And in response to an article about my disdain for beards, Chris from Ireland rebuts and takes on women who wear too much makeup:
So you think beards are not sexy. To a certain extent you are right. Looking like a mountain man is not a sexy look, but for the most part beards can be. Okay there are some men who should never be left out of the bathroom with facial fuzz. Johnny Depp for instance, who looks like the came off the worst in a battle with a razor. Many other men do look sexy with a beard. and it is not lazy not shaving, a well kept beard needs grooming and cheek and neck lines need to be shaved daily.
However women looking sexy?, Most can not do it with out slapping on the makeup and perfume, and seeing a tide line between makeup and a neck line is just a turnoff.and as for lipstick don't even suggest a debate with a guy about it. A TOTAL NO NO. What hot blooded male hasn't his best shirt ruined with makeup. and as for perfumes some are so sickly sweet that they would make you do just that: get sick.
So ladies before ye become an authority on what is sexy and
what is not, put your own house in order before ye turn every hetro male into a
homo,
Regards,
Chris
